L’Executive Director della Linux Foundation definisce il 2017 l’anno di Linux sul desktop ma usa macOS
In queste ore nella comunità Linux si sta discutendo di un episodio spiacevole che ha coinvolto Jim Zemlin, l’Executive Director della Linux Foundation.
Ma cosa è accaduto?
In questi giorni si sta tenendo l’Open Source Summit 2017, una conferenza organizzata dalla Linux Foundation che tratta argomenti inerenti la diffusione di Linux e del software open source.
Durante la conferenza Jim Zemlin, tramite tweet, ha annunciato che questo 2017 è l’anno di Linux sul desktop

Tutto molto bello (e ottimistico aggiungerei). Cosa c’è di sbagliato in questo intervento?
Be, il fatto che, stando a quanto riportato da Matthew Garrett, developer e contributore attivo del mondo del software libero e open source, Zemlin non usa più da anni un pc con Linux preferendo macOS per lavorare e l’iPad come strumento per le presentazioni

Se tutto ciò fosse confermato sarebbe una delle più brutte pubblicità verso Linux. Sarebbe come vedere Tim Cook utilizzare un Surface Book.

USA, attacco informatico ad Equifax: colpiti 143 milioni di clienti
